Green Economy Mark

Accelerating the transition to a more sustainable economy

Identifying London’s universe of green economy equities

London Stock Exchange is a leading hub for sustainable finance. Our position at the heart of global financial markets means that we are ideally placed to support issuers and investors in the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The Green Economy Mark identifies companies and funds, admitted to London Stock Exchange’s markets, that generate 50% or more of total annual revenues from products and services that contribute to the global green economy (drawing upon LSEG’s Green Revenues Classification System (GRCS)).

With a growing proportion of asset owners and managers seeking to deploy capital into sustainable investments, the Green Economy Mark can be used to demonstrate a universe of green economy equities. It harnesses the diversity and breadth of products and services in the green economy across all sectors and industries. Equity issuers within the Green Economy Mark cohort are key to accelerating the transition to a more sustainable economy.

[Music playing in the background.][Ross Grier, Lead Portfolio Manager, Next Energy Solar Fund] The green economy mark, means that investors can very quickly identify that the nextenergy solar fund, is a force for good in the economy.[Chris Dodwell, Global Lead of Policy & Advocacy Impax Asset Management] We're really proud to have held the mark since its inception. And because LSEG is such an internationally renowned brand,we really think it helps us,communicate our authenticity and our commitment to the green economy.[Roger Thornton, Director of Applications Engineering, Raspberry Pi] The green economy mark,is a symbol that. Raspberry Pi is building, products and a company that, embodies the principles of the green economy. Now that we're through our IPO process and we're now listed,we're going to be much more vocal about the fact that we have this mark. It's an independent statement of,actually what impact is all about. We've been operating as a specialist investor in thetransition to a sustainable economy for 26 years now.But it's nice that other people are recognizing that, rather than just us asserting it ourselves. We've known for a long time that the green component,of our economy is absolutely vital. What we want to see is a more sustainable future. The green economy itself is where capital, is going to beput to work to create that, better planet we're all seeking.Greenis invariably cheaper in the long run,and it's better for the world in the long run.We can't afford not to do this.So I think it's really important for companies likeImpax and for the green economy community that's been broughttogether by LSEG to be,advocates, for that change and to help shape the economy andto shape future markets.[Discover more about the Green Economy Mark from the London Stock Exchange] [londonstockexchange.com/GreenEconomyMark]
