Why have you made changes to the website?

London Stock Exchange has refreshed its website in order to provide additional tools, content and functionality.

Some of the new features and improvements include:

  • Significantly streamlined content with improved interface and navigation.
  • A dedicated search page to look up share prices, company information, news and documents.
  • Dynamic updates of intra-day price movements on News and Prices page.
  • A powerful price search where you can search for company share prices and markets as well as Retail bonds and Advanced bond searches.
  • Dynamically updated FTSE Indexes pages and FTSE constituents.
  • A new Personal Investing Hub for individual investors, with access to information and articles from London Stock Exchange and other market experts, covering topics such as investment basics, companies and securities or sustainable investing.  
  • A clearer view of our Rules and documents with sections mapped to key user journeys.
  • A dynamic global company map, showcasing our international reach.
  • Mobile responsive and device agnostic; compatible with the desktop and any smartphone or tablet.

I cannot find a section on the website that was previously available on the old site. Has it been removed?

While most of the frequently visited pages on our previous site have been set up to redirect users to the equivalent page on the refreshed site, you may need to set up some individual pages as a favourite again.

Where is the search button?

You can access our dedicated search page by clicking on the search icon at the top-right of the website to look up share prices, company information, news and documents.

Where is the user login and registration section?
  • Website user registration and login area can be accessible by clicking the 'user icon' (see below - marked in red) on the header menu. It will open the login screen and the create account screen. If you have an existing account which you used to log into the old website, use the old credentials in order to login. If you are a new user, click on ‘Create account’ and register on the website. Please note that the functionality of user registration and login is similar to the old website.

 

 

 

  • Once you logged in to the account, you will be directed to the ‘My account’ section. Under my account section, the following two tabs are available.
    • Tools – consisted of email alerts, portfolio and trading simulator, watchlist and order history
    • Account settings – ability to edit personal details, change password and delete account
How to reset my account password?

There are two ways to reset your password.

1. If you are not logged in already and do not remember your password;

  • Click on the 'user icon' (see below - marked in red) on the header menu and it will open the login and create account screen.
  • Under the login tab, click on 'Forgot your password?' link (see below - marked in purple) and you will be taken to the change password page.

 

  • On the change password page enter your username under ‘Username’ field
  • Enter your email address under ‘Email address’ field
  • Click on ‘Request Password’ button and an email will be sent to you with a temporary password.
  • Go to the Login page by clicking on the human icon at the right top of the page.

  • Enter your username under ‘Username’ field
  • Enter the temporary password you received via email on the ‘Password’ field
  • Click on ‘Login’ button and you will be taken to the Change Password page
  • On the Change password page, enter the temporary password you received via Email on the ‘Original Password’ field
  • Enter the new password you wish to update under ‘New password’ and re-enter the same under ‘Re-enter new password’
  • Click on ‘Get new Password’ and new password will be updated.

2. If you are already logged in and if you want to reset your password;

  • Go to ‘My account’ page.
  • Click on ‘Account settings’ tab on my account section.
  • Click on 'Change password' tab under Account settings section.
    • Enter your current password on ‘Original Password’ field.
    • Enter your new password under ‘New password’ field and confirm the same under ‘Re-enter New password’ field.
    • Click on ‘Get new Password’ button and your new password will be updated.

Where can I find companies and securities listed on your markets?

How do I find an stock/company page?

You can search for a stock/company page by following the below steps;

  • Click on the search icon at the right-top of the page and you will be taken to the dedicated search page

  • On the search page, you can search for the instrument / company by typing the name or code or ISIN in the text field and pressing enter on the keyboard.

  • For example, if you’re looking for the instrument TIDM LSE, type LSE on the text field and press enter on the keyboard and it will appear on the search results as below. On the search results, click on the instrument and it will take you to the company page.

 


 

Where can I find prices of listed companies?
  • Prices are available on the  Prices  and markets   page under the News and Prices section and via Quick links bar on the homepage.
  • Simply type the company name or code/ISIN to search.
  • You can also sort and filter your results –  further help on this can be found on our prices and markets help page.
  • You can access our dedicated search page by clicking on the search icon at the top-right of the website and  typing in the company name or code.
  • This will take you to the company page where you will find price, closing price on the ticker, charts, news and fundamentals for that company.
What information can I find on a company/stock page?
  • You can find individual company pages through our dedicated search page by clicking on the search icon at the top-right of the website.
  • You can also use Prices and markets page and simply type the company name or code/ISIN to search.
  • Our revamped company pages include up to 5 sections: 
    • Overview – consists of ticker, documentation, prospectus and trading information
    • Our story – information provided by the Issuer
    • Trade recap – trading data consists of FTSE sector information, volume of shares, value of trade and types of trade
    • Fundamentals – financial statements including balance sheet and income statements
    • Analysis – company news
    • E.g. LSEG company page
  • You can also find other instruments from the same issuer by clicking on the More instruments button on the Overview tab.

Offering documents are available on individual company pages using the Download document link.

RNS news

Where can I find RNS announcements?
  • RNS news is available on the RNS news page  and via Quick links bar on the homepage.
  • The default view is today’s news pre-filtered by earnings and news as it was on the previous website.  
  • You can also sort and filter your results further –  help on this can be found on our RNS news help page. 
Has RNS news changed since the launch of the refreshed website?
  • RNS news has a new look and feel but continues to offer the same news functionality as previously
  • The news search engine has been refined in order to bring you more relevant results
  • 2 years of news history is available to search, filter, and display.
How can I track RNS news for a particular share?

You can track and view RNS for your stock/share as before in your Portfolio or Watchlist when you log in to My account.

Why do I keep getting a notice on the RNS page when I try to view a recent news? (Disclaimer)

London Stock Exchange is pleased to provide real time UK regulatory news announcements to the general public for personal use and to RNS customers in a professional capacity.

If you try to view a recent UK regulatory news announcement which is released during the last 60 minutes, you will need to select the RNS user status i.e. a private investor, an RNS customer and a professional investor on the RNS disclaimer page which will popup.

Different RNS user definitions can be found on RNS user definitions page.

Unregistered users

  • If you are not registered on our website i.e. don't have an account, you will need to set your RNS user status on a daily basis.
    • Selecting a user status sets a cookie.
    • This cookie expires after 24 hours.
    • Any article views within the 24 hour window should display without the disclaimer.
  • If you are not registered and select the "Professional investor" option on the disclaimer, you will be blocked from viewing RNS articles that are less than 60 minutes old and a message will display. However, access to delayed UK regulatory news announcements (meaning announcements older than 60 minutes) is available for historical reference.
  • So if you are a private investor or an RNS customer make sure to select the correct user status.

Registered users

  • If you are a registered user, you can set your RNS user status by accessing My account section.
  • Click on 'Account settings' and access 'Personal information' section in order to set/update your RNS user status.
  • When you access the website in future and want to view a UK regulatory news announcements, you will not see the disclaimer page if you are logged into your account and you have set your RNS user status as private investor or an RNS customer.
How to print an RNS announcement?

Follow the below steps in order to print an RNS announcement.

  1. Go to News page and click on the relevant RNS announcement.
  2. Once the announcement is opened, click on the 'printer' icon (see below - marked in red) on top right corner of the announcement.

Where can I find FTSE Indexes information?
Where can I find the FTSE 100 page and constituents?
Where can I find risers and fallers?

Please follow the below steps to access the Risers and Fallers:

  • Click on FTSE indices link under News and Prices on the main menu
  • From the table on the FTSE indices page, click on the index you wish to view the risers and fallers for. Ex: FTSE 250
  • On the index page, click on Constituents tab and then click on Risers and Fallers and Volume leaders tab to view the Risers Fallers and Volume leaders under the index

How do I setup a Portfolio?

Please follow the below steps in order to create a portfolio;

  1. If you are not a registered user of our website, create a new account by accessing Registration page.
  2. Login to your account using your credentials and you will be directed to My account page - tools tab.
  3. Click on 'My Portfolio and Trading Simulator' tile at the bottom of My account page and you will be directed to Portfolio and Trading Simulator page.
  4. Click on 'New' button and enter a name and initial capital for your portfolio.

Once this is completed, the newly created portfolio will appear under My Portfolios table and you can access your portfolio by clicking on its name.

Using portfolios you can virtually trade in (buy/sell) stocks/shares.

How can I access my Portfolio/Alerts/Watchlist?

You can access Portfolio/Alerts/Watchlist by clicking on the My account link on the quick links section on the homepage or the button on the top navigation bar.

How can I add a stock to my Portfolio or Watchlist?

There are no changes to the functionality of adding a stock to your Portfolio/Watchlist.

If you are looking to add a security to your Portfolio or Watchlist, please follow the below steps;

  • Search for the security using the dedicated search page and access the company page or use the Prices and Markets section under News and Prices on the main menu.
  • On the company page or the Prices and Markets section, click on ‘Track’ button and then either choose “Add to Watchlist” or “Add to Portfolio”. 
  • If you would like to receive email alerts on a security, similarly, click on the “Track” button and click on “Create Alert”. You can set alerts on price changes or news.
  • All tracked instruments can be found in your Account page.

How can I withdraw money from my Portfolio or Trading Simulator?

Please note that the trading platform on our website is only a simulator and it does not function with real money or real trades. You will need to contact a local broker in order to invest in shares and find out more about the process.

We have a directory of UK brokers who are members of London Stock Exchange. Use our Find a Broker service to find the most suitable broker for your requirements. Specific offering information can be found directly on brokers websites.

How to buy/sell shares in the Portfolio or Trading Simulator?
  • To buy or sell shares on your portfolio, access your portfolio page via My account.
  • Access the relevant portfolio and on the composition table, click on the + sign corresponding the share to buy a more of that share and click on – sign to sell that share.

  • You can specify the buying or selling quantity and price once you access the buying/selling page.
  • Click confirm to proceed.
