Redefining the commodities marketplace

ETCs

  • ETCs are simple open-ended securities that trade on regulated exchanges, and enable investors to gain exposure to both commodities and currencies without trading futures or taking physical delivery.
  • The market for exchange-traded products (ETPs) operates in an order-driven environment on SETS, London Stock Exchange's premier trading service with integrated market maker liquidity provision, delivering guaranteed two-way prices. This ensures that all ETPs trading on the London Stock Exchange are continuously supported with bid-offer orders throughout the trading day.
  • LSEG is committed to developing the market for ETPs. We were the first to introduce a dedicated exchange-traded commodities (ETCs) segment in September 2006, followed a few years later by the development of multi-currency ETC trading in October 2007.
  • The price and trading data of your products will be disseminated to more than 139,000 professional terminals worldwide, and then further disseminated to websites and private investors worldwide via our Infolect data feed.

ETNs

  • Exchange-traded notes (ETNs) track the performance of an underlying asset. Similar to exchange-traded funds (ETFs), they are traded and settled like normal shares on their own dedicated sector. ETNs have market maker support with guaranteed liquidity, enabling investors to gain exposure to commodities, on-exchange, during London hours.
  • ETNs can be held in an individual savings account (ISA) or self-invested personal pension (SIPP) and, if held directly, are eligible for Capital Gains Tax treatment.
