Seraphim Space and HANetf close London Stock Exchange following launch of New Space ETF
The London Stock Exchange today welcomed Seraphim Space and HANetf to close the Market, marking the launch of the Seraphim New Space UCITS ETF. Issued and distributed by HANetf, the ETF tracks the Seraphim New Space Index, designed by Seraphim using a proprietary methodology informed by more than a decade of specialist SpaceTech investing. The ceremony was also attended by Chris McDonald MP, Minister of State for Science, Innovation and Investment, who opened the celebratory speeches.
The Index provides focused exposure to 23 companies across the commercial New Space economy, spanning satellite communications, Earth observation, launch, defence, intelligence and emerging in-space infrastructure. It applies a rules-based, conviction-weighted methodology designed to identify companies whose growth is directly linked to the continued commercialisation of space.
The inclusion of Seraphim Space Investment Trust plc (LSE: SSIT) also provides indirect access to private, growth-stage SpaceTech companies alongside the Index’s publicly listed constituents.
The ETF is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the tickers SERA in sterling and SPCE in US dollars, as well as on Xetra and Borsa Italiana.
The launch comes as space becomes an increasingly important layer of global infrastructure, supporting communications, navigation, intelligence, climate monitoring and security. Falling launch costs, rising demand for defence and sovereign capability and the convergence of artificial intelligence and SpaceTech are accelerating the emergence of a new generation of commercial space companies.
