The London Stock Exchange today welcomes Coiled Therapeutics plc (“Coiled”), a clinical-stage biotechnology company advancing a new generation of targeted cancer therapies, to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM). The Company’s ordinary shares trade under the ticker “COIL” and dealings commenced at 08:00 GMT on 27 March 2026.
Coiled Therapeutics was established to address some of the most aggressive and hard-to-treat forms of cancer. The Company’s lead asset, AO-252, is a first-in-class, orally administered small molecule designed to block TACC3 a protein that is frequently overexpressed in aggressive tumours but remains largely absent in healthy adult cells. This creates a significant therapeutic window, allowing the drug to target cancer cells with high precision while minimising the toxic side effects often associated with traditional forms of treatment.
Importantly AO-252 can cross the blood-brain barrier, a major hurdle in oncology which positions Coiled well to potentially treat both solid tumours and brain metastases, where there is a major unmet medical need.
The Company’s admission to AIM follows a successful £8.5 million fundraise with institutional investors. The proceeds will help expand Coiled’s ongoing Phase I clinical trial in the USA in its lead prostate cancer indication and a second indication in endometrial or ovarian cancer will be assessed. Early clinical signals are encouraging, demonstrating tumour reductions of up to 33% in patients at sub-therapeutic dose levels. The proceeds provide Coiled with the necessary capital reach major clinical milestones which will form the basis of commercial discussions with potential big pharma partners.
Beyond its lead programme, Coiled is also assessing its STAT-6 siRNA programme in immunology for IND submission.
Coiled’s leadership has a proven track record of multi-billion-dollar value creation in the biotechnology sector.
“Today marks a pivotal milestone for Coiled Therapeutics as we join the AIM market. Our mission is to deliver a lifeline to cancer patients who have exhausted standard treatment options. By targeting the TACC3 protein with our brain-penetrant therapy, we are positioned in the high-value precision oncology market as a differentiated business.”
“The support from our new and existing shareholders gives us the resources to accelerate our clinical programmes and generate the material data readouts required to drive our commercial strategy. Admission to the London Stock Exchange provides the ideal platform and visibility to support our growth ambitions as we strive to create significant long-term value by delivering much-needed new treatments to patients worldwide.”
