Burjeel Holdings PLC (Burjeel or the Group), a leading super-specialty healthcare services provider in the GCC, celebrated the London Stock Exchange Market Open on 10 July 2026, following the admission to trading of its inaugural USD 500 million 5-year Senior Unsecured Sukuk on the London Stock Exchange’s International Securities Market. Issued under the Group’s USD 1.5 billion Sukuk Programme, the transaction represents a significant milestone in Burjeel’s capital markets journey.
Listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, Burjeel Holdings operates an integrated healthcare ecosystem spanning hospitals, medical centers, physiotherapy, pharmacies, and specialised care services across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and beyond. The Group is focused on delivering advanced clinical care while investing in research, medical education, digital transformation, and AI-enabled healthcare innovation.
Burjeel’s debut Sukuk attracted a USD 1.6 billion orderbook, representing 3.2x oversubscription, with 61% of the allocation placed with international investors. The transaction marks the first Sukuk issued by a MENA healthcare provider since 2018 and reflects strong investor confidence in Burjeel's resilient healthcare platform, disciplined financial strategy, and long-term growth prospects.
The proceeds will be used in accordance with the offering documents, including refinancing existing bank facilities and supporting the Group's strategic priorities. The transaction further strengthens Burjeel's capital structure and provides additional flexibility to support its long-term expansion and continued investment in advanced healthcare services across the GCC.
“Opening the market at the London Stock Exchange marks an important milestone in Burjeel's growth journey. The strong support from regional and international investors reflects confidence in our strategy, our people, and our vision to build one of the region's leading healthcare platforms. This milestone strengthens our ability to expand advanced healthcare services while investing in research, medical education, and innovation to improve patient outcomes across the region.”
