On Friday, the London Stock Exchange welcomed Windsor Fellowship for its 40th Anniversary Symposium, followed by the Closing of the London Market.
Windsor Fellowship grew out of the landmark 1984 Windsor Conference, hosted by His Majesty King Charles III, then The Prince of Wales. It brought together leaders from business, government and communities to address the barriers facing talented young people from underrepresented ethnic backgrounds.
That commitment to unlocking young people’s potential is also reflected in The King’s Trust, founded by His Majesty and now supporting 11 to 30-year-olds through training, work experience and help to start businesses.
Since its establishment in 1986, Windsor Fellowship has developed a distinctive model spanning education, employment, leadership and active citizenship, working with more than half of the FTSE 100 and supporting more than 23,000 people.
The event also provided a fitting close to UK Black History Month at LSEG. Under this year’s theme, Honouring Our Communities, colleagues explored economic empowerment and financial wellbeing, Black entrepreneurship, creativity, culture, identity and the human value that will remain distinctive in an age of AI.
Closing the market recognised not only 40 years of impact, but the enduring importance of connecting talent with opportunity and enabling the next generation to succeed.
