The London Stock Exchange welcomed LSEG's London Young Professionals Network to close the market in celebration of the network's relaunch.
Founded in June 2022, by Saiem Jalil, as the London Early Careers Community, the network has grown significantly over the past four years and now has more than 500 members. Its mission is to provide a space for colleagues at the start of their careers in London to connect with one another, build relationships across the business, and learn more about LSEG.
The network hosts a wide range of events and initiatives throughout the year. In 2026, this included a mentoring programme involving 80 participants, pairing senior leaders with junior colleagues from across the business. Colleagues also took part in Spotlight Sessions with David Schwimmer and Erica Bourne, where they heard about their career journeys and leadership experiences. Educational In Focus sessions explored topics such as artificial intelligence and sustainability, while skills workshops covered areas including persuasive public speaking and succeeding in an AI-enabled workplace.
Alongside these professional development opportunities, the network brought colleagues together through social events such as a summer party and quiz night. These activities, and many others, have helped foster a strong community and create a positive atmosphere across the office.
Elliott Perry, who was on the graduate scheme in 2019, commented on the influence the network has had on him: “The network helped me meet new people in other parts of LSEG I wouldn't normally meet through my role. The Mentoring Programme in particular paired me with two great mentors who helped me think more strategically about my career, connected me with key people, and helped me to achieve my goals.”
This summer, the network is relaunching as the London Young Professionals Network, reflecting how it has evolved. The new identity better reflects the network's membership today while also welcoming an even broader group of colleagues in the future.
The network is run by a committee of 14 volunteers from across the business, who dedicate their time to creating opportunities that support colleagues' personal and professional development.
“It's a privilege to be closing the market as we celebrate this exciting milestone for our community. The relaunch marks not only the next chapter for the network, but also an opportunity to reflect on everything we have achieved together over the past four years. Through our events, mentoring programmes and development initiatives, we have helped colleagues build connections across the business, learn from one another and strengthen their sense of belonging at LSEG. I'm incredibly grateful to the current and former committee members whose dedication and voluntary contributions have made such a positive impact on so many colleagues across our London offices.”
