LSEG welcomed global leaders across finance, business and policy to mark the opening of trading in London ahead of our flagship London Climate Action Week event on Transition Finance.
Opened by David Schwimmer, CEO, LSEG, the event brought together senior stakeholders from financial institutions, corporates, the public sector, and civil society, to build understanding of the connectivity and feedback loops between corporate transition plans, transition finance, and climate policy.
Against a backdrop of evolving UK and international reporting expectations, discussions focused on the practical actions required to embed transition planning across corporate strategy, policymaking and capital allocation – and the role of high-quality data, disclosure and analytics in enabling that shift.
Delivered in partnership with the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI), the TPI Global Climate Transition Centre at the London School of Economics, the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and the International Transition Plan Network (ITPN), the event reflected the growing alignment required between policymakers, financial institutions and the real economy to drive transition at scale.
Together, these organisations are supporting the development of frameworks, tools and insights to help market participants assess transition credibility and mobilise capital with confidence .in delivering credible, investable and scalable transition planning.
“The conversations we’ll have today, and other conversations happening across London, are not just about setting agendas. They are about turning ambition into practical, investable pathways for transition.”
David Schwimmer
