Today, LSEG welcomed Chapter Zero for a market closing during London Climate Action Week. The occasion highlighted the role of boards in effective climate leadership.
A screening of a film, produced by Chapter Zero, brought to life the impact of climate risk, and addressed the business case for action. It also surfaced ideas associated with legacy in a connected world where planetary boundaries are being breached and climate action can no longer be delayed if outcomes are to be positive.
Chapter Zero is the philanthropically funded network of non-executive directors, Chairs and senior business leaders. Its purpose is to equip and inspire non-executive directors to lead on climate from the boardroom.
At the event, following the market close hosted by Chapter Zero Supporting Chair and LSEG Chair, Don Robert CBE, and Chapter Zero Chair, Tom Delay CBE, guests enjoyed a conversation between David Tyler, Chair of Domestic & General and Chapter Zero Supporting Chair, and Vicky Moffatt, CEO of Chapter Zero. This was followed by networking on LSEG’s stunning rooftop terrace overlooking St. Paul’s cathedral in the heart of the City of London.
“Effective climate leadership is part of a non-executive director's fiduciary duty. It relies on climate competency and asking the right questions in the boardroom. But it is also about being a luminary and being seen to act.”
Vicky Moffatt
