During the week of International Women’s Day, the London Stock Exchange was proud to host a special Market Close in partnership with The Superscalers and the ScaleUp Institute, celebrating the outstanding achievements of women who have built some of the UK’s most successful high‑growth businesses.
The ceremony brought together founders, investors and ecosystem leaders to recognise the 144 women in the UK who have scaled businesses beyond £50 million in revenue — trailblazers who are reshaping the UK economy and redefining what scale looks like for female‑led companies.
Hosted at Paternoster Square, the Market Close served both as a celebration and a signal of intent: to shine a spotlight on women building at scale today, and to strengthen the pathways for the next generation of founders to grow, scale and ultimately access public markets.
By convening founders who have scaled from idea to £50m+ and beyond — alongside leaders from across government, investment and capital markets — the Market Close underscored the importance of collaboration in supporting growth journeys at every stage.
The London Stock Exchange remains committed to championing diverse founders and supporting companies as they move from private markets through to public capital, helping to ensure that more high‑growth businesses can access the funding, visibility and support they need to scale globally.
“The Superscalers exist because we simply don’t have enough women reaching this level of scale — and we know that has to change.”
“Bringing this community to the London Stock Exchange is about recognising those who have already done it, while also building the ecosystem that helps more women scale faster, with confidence and ambition. This is how we create more seats at the table.”
