London Stock Exchange today welcomes Skills Builder Partnership to a Market Close ceremony to celebrate the official launch of its Global Division and the release of its inaugural Global Impact Report 2025. The event marks a significant milestone in the Partnership’s mission to ensure that one day, everyone builds the essential skills to thrive.
Empowering learners in a changing world
Skills Builder Partnership is a global social enterprise dedicated to transforming how the world builds highly transferable essential skills including Problem Solving, Creativity, and Teamwork. These human capabilities are increasingly critical as the rapid acceleration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation transforms nearly 70% of job roles globally.
The 2025 Global Impact Report reveals that in the past year alone, the Partnership and its 1,113 partners delivered over 2.4 million high-quality opportunities for individuals to build these skills across 52 countries. This global reach is anchored by the Universal Framework, a rigorous, sequential model that breaks down eight essential skills into 16 teachable steps.
This approach helps learners of all ages master these skills step-by-step - whether demonstrating active listening, creating and testing hypotheses, or allocating tasks in teams. Whether in Czechia, Nigeria, Hong Kong or the UK these are exactly the skills that will allow children and young people to thrive.
Driving measurable change
The ceremony highlights the Partnership’s successful transition from a UK-based initiative to a global movement, supported by LSEG Foundation. Key achievements from the past year include:
- Teacher empowerment: Training over 22,700 educators worldwide, with 96% of those in the flagship Accelerator programme reporting increased confidence in teaching these skills.
- Accelerated progress: Demonstrating that learners in Skills Builder programmes make more than twice the rate of progress in essential skills development compared to those without such support.
- National policy integration: Supporting the adoption of essential skills frameworks into national education approaches in the UK, Kenya, and Uganda.
“Essential skills are not a relic of the past; they are the human counterbalance to a future defined by technology. Our research shows that individuals with higher essential skill levels are 30% more likely to use AI tools frequently at work. By bringing the Universal Framework to 52 countries, we are moving beyond just advocating for these skills to providing the measurable, rigorous tools educators need to drive real change for every learner. We are honoured to close the market today as we embark on our vision to reach millions more by 2030.”
