London Stock Exchange welcomes The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation

This afternoon, The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation (TMBDLF) closed London’s markets at the London Stock Exchange to mark the relaunch of The Brawn Review: Boardroom Sustainability, Inclusion and Governance and to celebrate 10 years of global impact empowering the next generation of leaders. The ceremony formed part of the charity’s 10th anniversary programme and signalled a renewed commitment to education, equity, and inclusive leadership.

Founded on 4 January 2016 by Professor Miranda Brawn (Founder, President and Board Chair, and host of The D.A.R.E. Podcast), TMBDLF’s mission is to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion gaps in the workplace and beyond through education and empowerment. Its ten‑year strategy, “1 Million Young People: From the Classroom to the Boardroom,” bridges education and employment through scholarships, mentoring, work experience, and visibility opportunities. To date, the charity has supported 100,000+ young people and awarded 700+ educational scholarships.

The Brawn Review is a global report featuring 50 recommendations drawn from 1,000+ board members across 24 sectors spanning private, listed, public and third sectors. Findings include that “78% of board members agree more can be done to improve sustainability and inclusion within their organisations”, while 86% are “unsure about the next steps”. The relaunch also introduces a more accessible cover (replacing the original red) to improve readability for people with anxiety, low vision, colour vision deficiencies, and certain learning disabilities.

The market was closed by Professor Miranda Brawn, joined by global board members, TMBDLF patrons, corporate sponsors, volunteers, and invited guests. Reflecting on the charity’s 10‑year journey, Professor Miranda Brawn noted: “While there have been some improvements over the decades, progress remains uneven and parity is not yet a reality across the workplace and its boardrooms.” She emphasised the “importance to ensure leadership not only reflects the full diversity of talent but includes a focus on the inclusion to ensure that all voices are heard, recognised, rewarded and respected.”

Wrote in The Brawn Review,

“The message from the boardroom members is simple: sustainability, inclusion and good governance are not optional. They are the only path to sustainable leadership for long‑term success in and out of the boardroom for all organisations.”

For TMBDLF, the relaunch of The Brawn Review and the charity’s 10th anniversary mark both a milestone and a call to action - reaffirming a commitment to educate, inspire and empower current and future leadership talent from the classroom to the boardroom and beyond.
