London Stock Exchange welcomes Military Insight Day attendees to close the market

On Thursday 30 April, London Stock Exchange was pleased to welcome attendees from the LSEG Military Insight Day to close the market at its Paternoster Square headquarters.

London Stock Exchange Group is proud to support the armed forces community and to recognise the valuable contribution that veterans, reservists and military families bring to business. LSEG is a recipient of the UK Government’s Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, recognising organisations that demonstrate sustained, practical support for the defence community. Events such as the Military Insight Day further reinforce this commitment, showcasing LSEG’s focus on creating inclusive pathways into meaningful civilian careers for veterans, service leavers and the families who support them.

Hosted by LSEG’s Veterans Support Network, the Military Insight Day brought together service leavers, reservists and members of the military community to explore how their skills, experience and leadership could translate into roles across the organisation. Attendees gained insight into LSEG’s purpose, culture and role in global markets, alongside opportunities spanning technology, operations, financial markets, risk and corporate functions.

The event featured first‑hand perspectives from colleagues who have transitioned from the military into roles through LSEG’s Veterans Talent Scheme (LSEG VeTS). Attendees had the opportunity to connect informally with recruiters, hiring managers and teams across the organisation, helping to build relationships and networks for the future.

A highlight of the day was the chance to experience a live Market Close ceremony, providing a memorable conclusion to an event that celebrated the strength, adaptability and potential of the military community.
