London Stock Exchange today welcomes Ramsey Crookall as the firm celebrates its 80th anniversary year.
Founded in 1946, Ramsey Crookall is the Island’s longest-established independent firm of stockbrokers and investment managers. For eight decades, the business has provided stockbroking, investment management and custody services to private clients, intermediaries, trusts, charities and institutions, both locally and internationally.
Established shortly after the Second World War, the firm has evolved alongside the financial markets themselves, progressing from the era of handwritten ledgers and telegrams to today’s globally connected electronic trading environment. Throughout that time, Ramsey Crookall has remained independently owned and focused on building long-term client relationships based on personal service, integrity and trust.
Neal Crookall, son of the founder and now Chairman, holds a direct personal connection with the London Stock Exchange. Having joined the family business in 1959, he went on to gain experience in London in 1961 as a “blue button” on the floor of the Exchange, before later becoming Senior Partner of Ramsey Crookall & Co. In 2013, he received the City of London Lifetime Achievement Award for his services to the industry.
Today, the business manages in excess of £2.5 billion in assets under administration and serves clients across more than 100 locations worldwide. The firm is licensed by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority and is a member of the London Stock Exchange.
Over the years, Ramsey Crookall has received significant industry recognition, including multiple City of London Wealth Management Awards, most recently being named Regional Wealth Manager of the Year for North West England for the eighth consecutive year.
“Celebrating 80 years in business is a proud milestone for everyone connected with Ramsey Crookall, particularly for me personally, having now devoted more than 65 years of service to the company founded by my father in 1946.
Since the firm was established, our focus has remained on delivering trusted advice, personal service and long-term relationships with our clients. The financial world has changed dramatically over the decades, but the principles on which the business was built continue to guide us today.
We are extremely grateful to our clients, staff and professional connections for the trust and support they have given the firm over many generations. As we look to the future, we remain committed to preserving the values and independence that have defined Ramsey Crookall for eighty years, whilst continuing to evolve and develop for the next generation.”
