London Stock Exchange celebrate the Green Economy Mark Class of 2026

The London Stock Exchange welcomed the Green Economy Mark Class of 2026 to open the market in London this morning, and to celebrate the continued progress of the green economy within global capital markets.

Opened by Dame Julia Hoggett, CEO of the London Stock Exchange, and joined by Minister Katie White OBE MP (Minister for Climate in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero), the morning provided an opportunity to celebrate the 95 companies and funds in the 2026 cohort, discuss the UK’s role in global green finance and to showcase the latest Green Economy Mark Report.

Since the Green Economy Mark was introduced in 2019, as the first green equity offering created by a global exchange, the cohort’s combined market capitalisation has more than tripled to £192bn in 2026. Reflecting the strong growth of London-listed issuers with meaningful exposure to the green economy, the Mark has supported the development of a deep and increasingly international investor base for green businesses, with over £70bn of disclosed institutional capital invested across the cohort. This reflects the strength of London as a global centre for sustainable finance, and its role in connecting capital with the companies and funds that are building a greener economy and shaping the industries and jobs of the future.

The Market Open was followed by LSEG’s annual Green Economy Forum, which explored a range of topics shaping the green economy, ranging from adaptation and biodiversity to investor trends and scaling the green economy through public markets. H.R.H. Jaime de Bourbon de Parme, Director Environment Directorate, OECD, delivered the keynote, alongside a range of speakers from across the industry.
