The Worshipful Company of International Bankers (WCIB) will mark its 25th anniversary with the Market Open Ceremony at the London Stock Exchange on Thursday 14 May 2026. Founded in 2001 to bring together professionals from across the international banking community in the City of London, the Company promotes professional excellence, integrity, education and fellowship within financial services.
“Our Company has grown in a short time to become one of the most diverse, dynamic and forward-looking companies in the Livery world.”
“The International in our name reflects our truly global membership and cross-cultural ambition, as we seek to combine charitable work with a combination of tradition and modernity, building on links with the financial services sector we represent.”
Tim Skeet
Through its many charitable initiatives, the WCIB is committed to making a positive difference to its community: it provides both finance and mentors to support disadvantaged young people with their education, financial literacy and employability.
Over the past quarter century, the Company has grown into a vibrant, diverse and active livery organisation. With over 800 members drawn from 60 nationalities, the WCIB exists to strengthen connections between the City and the global banking sector, to uphold the traditions of the City of London and to contribute to the development of the next generation through mentorship and engagement.
Celebrating this milestone at the London Stock Exchange carries particular significance. It reflects the Company’s enduring connection to the heart of global capital markets and to the principles that underpin trust in banking: responsible leadership, international collaboration and service. The Worshipful Company of International Bankers is delighted to mark this occasion, celebrating its achievements to date, reaffirming its purpose and looking ahead with confidence to the future.
