Today, the London Stock Exchange welcomed Brunner Investment Trust PLC to open the market, kicking off its 100th anniversary celebrations and marking an extraordinary milestone in the Trust’s history.
Brunner Investment Trust PLC was formed from the Brunner family’s interest in the sale of Brunner Mond & Co, the largest of the four companies that came together to form Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) in 1927. Today, Brunner shares are available for everyone to buy and are widely held by both private and institutional investors.
A great deal has changed over the past century. Markets have risen and fallen, industries have been transformed and new ones have emerged. But throughout that change, Brunner’s purpose has remained consistent: to deliver both capital growth and a growing income for shareholders.
Today, Brunner is a truly global investment trust. Its managers have the freedom to seek out high-quality businesses across countries, sectors and industries, with a focus on building a balanced and resilient portfolio that can navigate changing market conditions while delivering long-term growth and income.
Its balanced, all-weather approach combines quality, growth and value, rather than relying heavily on any single investment style, region or market theme. This focus on diversification is designed to make the Trust a long-term core holding for shareholders. The Trust’s strong dividend track record also reflects its focus on providing shareholders with a reliable and growing source of income over the long term. To date, Brunner has increased its dividend to shareholders every year for the past 54 years.
The Market Open ceremony brought together representatives from Brunner Investment Trust, Allianz Global Investors and invited guests to celebrate this significant milestone. After 100 years of investing through changing markets, the occasion provided an opportunity to celebrate Brunner’s enduring heritage while ringing in an exciting new chapter for the Trust and its shareholders.
