LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) welcomed leading LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall as the charity marked the launch of its new strategy - In courage and unity, is hope - and its new approach to workplace inclusion – Proud Employers.
Stonewall was joined by Government Equalities Minister Dame Nia Griffith MP and around 100 business leaders to launch Proud Employers and the new kitemarking scheme recognising employers leading the way in LGBTQ+ inclusion.
Stonewall works to make the world a safe and equal place for LGBTQ+ people to live, work and thrive. Over the last 35+ years, the charity has helped change the lives of LGBTQ+ people in the UK, driving positive change in public attitudes and public policy. Today, the charity is part of a vibrant, growing and global movement advocating for LGBTQ+ rights.
The event takes place during Pride season, as LGBTQ+ people face an increasingly uncertain future. Stonewall’s new approach is designed to meet the challenges ahead with renewed focus and commitment.
“Today we launch our workplace inclusion programme Proud Employers, part of Stonewall’s new strategic direction, in the heart of London’s business community.”
“At a time where global rights and inclusion principles are under threat, we must create a society and working environment that supports LGBTQ+ people to thrive. It makes sense for organisations too - supporting growth, retaining talented people and driving success.”
“Proud Employers will support organisations in LGBTQ+ inclusion and enable them to demonstrate their commitment.”
