LSEG was honoured to welcome the organisers and dignitaries of the First Ladies of Africa Impact & Resilience (FLAIR) Summit to mark a significant moment for global collaboration, female leadership, and African innovation on the world stage.
In a symbolic Market Close ceremony, the FLAIR Summit delegation gathered alongside partners and stakeholders to commemorate the Summit’s commitment to economic transformation, sustainable development, and resilient leadership across the African continent. The Summit brings together First Ladies, business leaders, philanthropists, and policymakers under the shared mission of advancing equality, opportunity, and prosperity across Africa — and connecting those goals to global financial ecosystems.
A Platform for Global Impact
The FLAIR Summit represents a landmark initiative, strategically aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. The event highlights the pivotal role First Ladies play as catalysts for national development, particularly in the areas of healthcare, education, climate resilience, and women’s economic empowerment.
By convening in global financial hubs such as London, the Summit underscores the strategic importance of international partnerships in unlocking capital, innovation, and long-term solutions to some of Africa’s most pressing challenges.
Strategic Vision and Leadership
Led by an exceptional Steering Committee of African First Ladies including H.E Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, Nigeria, Queen Atuwatse III of Warri Kingdom University of Nairobi, Baroness Verma of Leicester and supported by an influential network of development institutions and corporate partners, including the FT, Elevate Africa, and many more the FLAIR Summit aims to generate sustainable impact through multi-sector collaboration.
This year’s Summit theme, “From Influence to Impact: Advancing Resilience and Economic Inclusion,” focuses on creating scalable models of inclusive development, championed by Africa’s First Ladies and fuelled by public-private partnerships.
“The FLAIR Summit represents a turning point in how we leverage soft power, financial capital, and global partnerships to drive transformative outcomes across Africa. We are proud to stand on the floor of the London Stock Exchange as a symbol of Africa’s growing leadership on the global stage.”
H.E. Abdulrazaq
Collaboration Across Sectors
The FLAIR Summit is supported by a broad coalition of stakeholders including governments, NGOs, financial institutions, foundations, and leading corporates. Together, these entities are co-designing a new playbook for development — one that centres African voices, champions innovation, and elevates women's leadership.
“This presence at the London Stock Exchange sends a strong message to the global investment community: Africa is not only open for business but leading in new models of resilience and inclusive growth. “FLAIR is not just a Summit — it’s a movement which represents a broader platform for ongoing global engagement and collaboration”
