The London Stock Exchange welcomed the South Yorkshire Trade Mission to London today, organised by The Digital Forge CIC in partnership with the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.
The mission brought a delegation of leading deep tech and hard tech companies to the capital, representing a region whose industrial heritage is now evolving into a platform for next-generation innovation. The delegation connected South Yorkshire founders directly with institutional investors and fund managers.
The day began with the official Market Open Ceremony, led by South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard, followed by an investor showcase hosted at the London Stock Exchange. Selected companies presented their technologies to investors managing significant UK and global capital, underlining the growing strength and ambition of South Yorkshire’s innovation economy.
The initiative is designed to strengthen the pipeline between regional talent and national capital markets, positioning South Yorkshire as a centre of excellence in advanced manufacturing, applied AI, robotics and materials science. It is also a milestone in the ongoing mission of The Digital Forge CIC — a community interest company created to accelerate the next era of UK industrial innovation by bringing together founders, technologists and industry leaders.
“Opening the Market at the London Stock Exchange is a defining step for South Yorkshire’s innovation ecosystem. It reflects a region that is not only producing world-class technology, but is ready to scale it — with the capability, confidence and intent to compete on a national and global stage.”
