London Stock Exchange welcomes HANetf and VettaFi to celebrate the Future of Defence UCITS ETF

HANetf is honoured to close the market at the London Stock Exchange today, in celebration of the Future of Defence UCITS ETF (LSE: NATO), which has accumulated almost $2 billion in assets under management (AUM) since launch in 2023.

HANetf is Europe’s first and only independent white-label UCITS ETF and ETC platform, providing a full operational, regulatory, distribution, and marketing solution to asset managers looking to launch ETPs in Europe. Founded by ETF pioneers Hector McNeil and Nik Bienkowski in 2017, HANetf has since launched over 50 products and accumulated $5.6 billion in assets under management (AUM).

A key moment in HANetf’s history came in 2023, with the launch of a groundbreaking new product on London Stock Exchange – Future of Defence UCITS ETF (NATO). The ETF tracks an index constructed by VettaFi and aims to provide exposure to NATO and NATO+ ally defence and cyber defence spending.

Uniquely, the ETF employs a “NATO screen”, limiting exposure to companies domiciled in NATO or NATO+ ally member states. In this way, the ETF seeks to align with the values of investors who may have concerns about defence investing, but cannot ignore the current political climate, and therefore seek a smarter and more considered approach.

“Today’s Market Close ceremony gives us an opportunity to reflect on the success of the NATO ETF. The product has clearly resonated with investors, and we believe the unique ‘NATO screen’ sets it apart from its peers.”

Co-Founder and Co-CEO of HANetf

Since its launch, the NATO ETF has accumulated almost $2 billion in AUM, with over $1 billion of inflows this year alone. HANetf also recently announced the launch of a Europe-focused defence ETF, which is expected to list on the London Stock Exchange in due course.
