Yesterday, at the London Stock Exchange, Optibus celebrated a decade of impact and innovation in public transportation.
Founded in 2014 by CEO Amos Haggiag and CTO Eitan Yanovsky, Optibus is a global technology company offering an intelligent software system for planning and operating more efficient, sustainable, and accessible public transportation. The platform leverages artificial intelligence, optimisation algorithms, and cloud computing to support electric vehicle management, real-time operations, passenger information, service design, and more. Its impact can be felt worldwide, optimising seven billion passenger trips annually in 6,000 cities across 35 countries. In the UK alone, it powers 70% of public buses.
“Public transportation shapes the prosperity of our cities and provides millions of people with vital access to work, education, healthcare, and more. But transportation planning and operations are complex. Optibus simplifies this process, making it easier for operators and agencies to serve passengers, protect the planet, and make public transportation the mobility mode of choice for everyone, everywhere,” said Amos Haggiag, CEO and co-founder of Optibus.
Backed by Volvo Group Venture Capital, Insight Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, and more, Optibus is the first start-up dedicated to public transportation to reach a valuation of more than $1 billion.
