London Stock Exchange Group welcomes Baroness Valerie Amos and The Amos Bursary along with our UK Black History Month partners City Black Employee Reserve Group, SeedLegals, Barclays, Diversity X, Definely, Ubran Synergies, Imperial College, Nimi, Dark Sugars and Work Wise Data, to celebrate Black History Month 2024.
Black History Month is an opportunity to reflect on the immense contributions Black communities have made throughout history, and to recognise the ongoing challenges they face. It also creates a focal point during the year for us to engage meaningfully with the stories of resilience, innovation, and leadership that have shaped both the past and the present.
This year’s theme, ‘Reclaiming our Narratives’ is just not a reminder of the importance of black voices and stories, but a call to action for all of us to uplift and honour those voices across every industry including our own. The theme resonates deeply as it invites us to challenge the narratives of the past that have often been incomplete or inaccurate. It encourages us to place the stories of Black individuals and communities at the forefront, ensuring their experiences, struggles, and triumphs are told on their own terms. In the financial world, and especially here at the London Stock Exchange Group, we recognise the importance of inclusivity and diversity in fostering innovation and growth. We are thrilled to host this event as it is an opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the Black community to our shared success and to promote a more inclusive future.
