London Stock Exchange celebrates International Women’s Day with Invest in Women – Founders and Traders Forum

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the London Stock Exchange proudly hosted the ‘Invest in Women: Founders and Traders Forum’, convening esteemed figures and rising stars from across the industry, including business founders, investors, and traders from the sellside and buyside.

The Market Close ceremony was followed by two panel discussions, where female founders and industry leaders shared their stories, challenges and insights on shifting the dial on access to growth capital, how we can overcome systemic barriers faced by women, and what is next for DEI.

The London Stock Exchange’s 2023 report charting 50 years of change for women in the UK’s finance sector found that women’s contribution to the UK’s GDP from 1997 – 2022 had grown from approximately £22.6bn to over £64bn. Over this 26-year period, the GVA by women working in the financial sector, in real, inflation-adjusted terms, constitutes a £1.12 trillion ‘gender diversity dividend’ to the UK economy. Despite this progress, challenges persist.

This celebration also launched the London Stock Exchange’s ‘ScaleUp Britain’ campaign in partnership with the ScaleUp Institute, reaffirming our commitment to driving positive change.
