Investopia closes the Main Market at London Stock Exchange

Investopia closed the Main Market, celebrating a new era of successful financial services partnership between the UAE and the UK.

London Stock Exchange welcomed Investopia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) investment platform that launched in 2021 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy. Investopia aims to connect and facilitate collaboration between the global community of investors, governments and business leaders to accelerate the flow of capital, unlock investment opportunities in new economic sectors, and promote economic growth.

Over its first 2 editions, Investopia brought together more than 3,500 participants from ~60 different countries, including more than 500 C-suite executives, 180 founders, cofounders, and financial institutions representing more than $500 billion in assets under management. Investopia flagship events offer a unique model in the MENA and broader region where leaders’ dialogue and thought leadership is combined with a marketplace for capital allocation as well as an exclusive meeting space for large investors, policy makers and global corporates. This comes in addition to the Global Talks series that took Investopia to various global cities including New York, Geneva, Milan, New Delhi, Mumbai, Cairo, Rabat, Havana, and now London.

The UAE and the UK enjoy strong connections, close collaboration, and tight investment partnerships that go back several decades. Building on that relationship, the Ministry of Economy of the UAE and HM Treasury of the UK are jointly organising a special edition of Investopia Global Talks that will take place on 31 January 2024, hosted by the Lord Mayor of the City of London Corporation.

This special edition of the Investopia Global Talks themed “UAE-UK Financial Services: Partnering for the Future” follows the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between HM Treasury of the UK and the Ministry of Economy of the UAE to promote collaboration and bilateral dialogues on financial services. The discussion will focus on four key areas:

  • The UAE – UK Strategic partnership for the future
  • The role of public and private markets in supporting economic growth
  • Fintech and Open Banking
  • Green growth: Unlocking sustainability opportunities for the financial services sector
