London Stock Exchange welcomes Slush
Roughly ten years ago, Slush was born and raised in Helsinki by a group of entrepreneurs who realized that there was nothing that supported the local entrepreneurs in what they did. Slush started out as a 300-person event. The focus was on bringing the founders together and attracting capital to the region to help the next generation of world-conquering entrepreneurs succeed.
Today, Slush is a student-driven, not-for-profit movement with the mission to create and help the next generation of ground-breaking entrepreneurs. The main event organized in Helsinki every November has grown in just a few short years to 25,000 attendees, bringing together the leading actors of the global tech scene to Helsinki.
“Slush wants to support early-stage venture capital funds in their fundraising as we strongly believe that better access to capital will benefit the whole tech ecosystem in Northern Europe and especially in the Nordics” - Nea Piha, Head of Investor Operations at Slush
Slush opens the London Stock Exchange to celebrate a record-breaking year that included launching its own tech-media and research arm, and being the world’s biggest gathering of venture capital in tech. One of the main goals for investor operations at Slush this year has been to better facilitate early-stage VC funds raising funding from Limited Partners. To kick off this long-term project Slush is opening the market together with investors who have gathered together to London to discuss the future of funding venture.
