London Stock Exchange welcomes Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK
London Stock Exchange Group welcomed participants of the ‘Unicorn School’ convened by Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) programme, for a market open and leadership forum on 15th May.
Launched in 2010, 10KSB UK is a programme run by Goldman Sachs in partnership with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and Aston University that provides business and management training to high growth small business owners from across the UK. So far, over 2,200 small businesses have participated in the programme.
The Unicorn School builds on Goldman Sachs 10KSB’s recent ‘Generation Growth’ campaign, which explores the policies required to supercharge productivity for UK small businesses. It brings together more than 60 of the programme’s highest performing alumni to celebrate the success of their companies and to provide them with further education and insights on accelerating their future growth.
Participants of this year’s Unicorn School cohort have a combined annual revenue of almost £1bn and collectively employs more than 6,000 people. This combined revenue is projected to more than triple in the next five years and the headcount to double, making them some of the UK’s leading high potential businesses, who may expect to list in the future.
Following the Unicorn School on Tuesday, cohort members and leaders of the Goldman Sachs 10KSB programme were invited to open the market on Wednesday morning, before a ‘Teach In’ by Head of AIM and UK Primary Markets at LSEG, Marcus Stuttard. This further allowed these future unicorn companies to explore the opportunities of taking their businesses public.
