London Stock Exchange Group welcomes Sir Alan Yarrow to honour his Chairmanship of Turquoise Global

London Stock Exchange Group today welcomes Turquoise Global Holdings Limited and Members of the Board for a Market Close Ceremony to honour Sir Alan Yarrow for his contributions as Chairman of Turquoise (TGHL) and to celebrate recent achievements.

Sir Alan Yarrow served as Non-Executive Director since 2010 and succeeded David Lester to become Chairman of Turquoise Global Holdings Limited in 2017. During this time, Alderman Yarrow was Sheriff of London for 2011–2012 and then elected as the 687th Lord Mayor of London, 2014–2015. He was previously Chairman of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, and prior to that Chairman of the London Investment Bank Association. In January 2016, Alan received a Knighthood for services to international business, inclusion, and The City of London.

Turquoise is the multilateral trading venue majority owned by London Stock Exchange Group in partnership with the user community. Investors, through one connection, can trade a universe of 4300+ Equities of more than 20 countries spanning UK Europe and US with a range of ways to buy and sell. In 2015, the Plato Partnership selected Turquoise as its Preferred Partner following an extensive selection process. September 2016, Plato and Turquoise entered a cooperation agreement  that brought together, for the first time, buy-side, sell-side and a trading venue to deliver increased efficiencies to equity markets.

During Sir Alan’s term as Chairman, the industry repeatedly recognised Turquoise for innovation and outstanding service. This November, Turquoise won The TRADE Award 2021 for Outstanding Equities Trading Venue. This follows the remarkable journey of Turquoise winning the Financial News Award for Innovation in 2015 and then The TRADE Award for Best Block Trading venue in 2017.

The highest accolades come from Clients. CEO Mike Bellaro said:

“On behalf of Plato Partnership, I want to thank you for your amazing support and inspiration. Together we created the “Gold Standard” of partnerships, with a dedication to excellence and constantly pushing the boundaries for the greater good of society.”
