
London Stock Exchange Group welcomes 100 Women in Finance celebrating its 20 year Anniversary
100 Women in Finance (100WF) is delighted to mark its 20th Anniversary year with a Market Open at London Stock Exchange during the week of International Women’s Day!
100WF began with the aim to bring 100 senior female investment professionals together to collectively leverage their relationships and enhance communication within the alternatives industry. The interest in such a collaboration was so strong that 100 quickly multiplied and now, 100WF proudly serves nearly 20,000 registered members in 26 locations across four continents.
100WF is a diverse network of individuals, corporates, foundations, non-profits, universities and colleges—all committed to effecting change through initiatives that promote diversity of thought, raise the visibility of those who want to be heard, and empower women to find their personal path to success in finance.
The organization connects women at every career stage, from pre-career to senior practitioner, encouraging the development of life-long relationships and the sharing of knowledge and expertise.
100WF is volunteer driven with an impressive number of active (500+) volunteers and 16 staff members carrying out its mission all around the world. 100WF owes its global reach and success to the tireless efforts of these members, volunteers, and the organizations that support them. These members and volunteers, both past and present, will be celebrated throughout 2021 for their 20 years of making a difference.
The Next 20
Vision 30/40--100WF has a guiding vision for women to make up 30% of investment teams and finance industry executive positions by 2040. It is a goal that they ask the industry to take part in to reach more women who are already in finance and to advocate for a new generation of industry leadership.
Many individuals and organizations have joined this effort, some of whom sponsor 100WF initiatives through programs such as the 100WF CEO Circle, which focuses on strategic initiatives aimed at exploring new ideas and locales and to promote diversity of thought in the finance industry.
100WF hopes that through the continued commitment of all who support the organization, that there will be cause to celebrate in the next 20 years where we will see a marked increase in the number of women represented in the finance industry in all roles including those at the C-suite level. But for now, here’s to the first 20!
