London Stock Exchange Group celebrates Neurodiversity Awards - Story

The annual awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating the achievements of the Neurodiversity community was held at the London Stock Exchange today. Recognising neurodivergent individuals and organisations who seek to create systemic and lasting change, Genius Within’s Celebrating Neurodiversity Awards highlight the strengths that neurodiverse individuals can bring to the workplace. The awards programme, in its 3rd year, recognises role models who break down barriers, and the organisations committed to neuro-inclusion.

Between 15-20% of the population is estimated to be neurodivergent (around 10-13.5 million in the UK), yet many still struggle with the appropriate accessible systems and processes within the working environments to reach their full potential. Like all staff, neurodivergent employees have strengths and weaknesses. The businesses who benefit most are those that recognise that everyone is different and support their staff to succeed and flourish in their careers. LSEG welcomes this impressive group of individuals and the organisations who are making a positive impact.

During London Stock Exchange’s Market Close ceremony, we welcomed recipients of this year’s awards ranging from innovation in Assistive Technology, Inclusive Projects, Educators and Employers, achievements in research and the individuals who were highlighted as Stereotype Buster of the Year and Neurominority Achiever of the Year. The awards are sponsored by Ernst & Young and Microsoft.

Genius Within CEO, Jacqui Wallis said, ‘We all need systemic change, right across the world, in our governments, in our social systems and throughout our organisations. This awards programme shines a light on those who are leading the way.’

‘Delighted to host the Genius Within awards at LSEG today. Inclusive teams are better teams and Genius Within do brilliant work supporting those with neurodivergence to succeed and thrive at work. Events like these - and Celebrating Neurodiversity week – really help improve inclusion for neurominorities. Huge congratulations to all the nominees and the winners!’
