London Stock Exchange Group celebrates City Giving Day 2020
Launched in 2015, City Giving Day is The Lord Mayor’s Appeal’s annual celebration of philanthropy and giving in the City. It’s a great time to reflect on everything that City businesses are doing for local communities and charities. This year it will be more important than ever, as many charities and organisations are finding that their funding is being impacted and will be reliant on businesses and organisations being able to support them as much as possible.
This year, the City Giving Day celebrations will be somewhat different. Many organisations have had to rethink the way they organise their events, but they have embraced the chance to broaden their horizons and find even more creative ways to support their communities and engage colleagues through exciting and innovative events.
Championed by successive Lord Mayors of the City of London, City Giving Day has gone from strength to strength with over 450 companies registered to take part this year.
Alderman William Russell The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor of the City of London
“2019 was hugely successful, and this year we hope to see even more organisations and businesses getting involved in City Giving Day, holding events, volunteering, fundraising and sharing their stories to demonstrate the transformational impact of bringing together businesses, employees, communities and charities”
