Seplat Energy, a leading Nigerian energy company dual listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the London Stock Exchange, is proud to mark a decade since it completed the first ever Lagos / London dual listing.

Seplat Energy commenced trading in London and Lagos on 14 April 2014, raising $535 million to grow its energy business in Nigeria. Since its listing, the Company has returned $575 million in dividends to shareholders, paid over $2.0 billion in royalties, taxes and levies to the government of Nigeria, and more than doubled its oil and gas reserves to 478 million barrels of oil equivalent. Furthermore, over the past decade, Seplat has invested over $1.6 billion in capex, supporting the production of approximately 90 million barrels of oil, and supplying almost 400 billion cubic feet of natural gas to the domestic market.

Today, Seplat Energy’s achievements will be celebrated when it closes the market on the London Stock Exchange, having recently undertaken the market closing ceremony on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Roger Brown, Chief Executive Officer, said:
"It is a decade since Seplat Energy joined the Nigerian and London Stock Exchanges, becoming the first to dual list on these exchanges and remains one of the largest IPOs out of sub-Saharan Africa since 2014. The listing enabled us to establish ourselves as the leading, indigenous, independent energy company in Nigeria.
We are committed to our listings in both Nigeria and London, which have supported our ongoing efforts to operate with the highest standards of corporate governance and enabled access to capital that will continue to provide the foundation for growth for many years to come.”

Udoma Udo Udoma, Chairman, said:
“I am delighted to have joined Seplat at an exciting time in its evolution. As we reach this significant milestone as a listed company, I would like to congratulate all our employees on your enduring commitment to our purpose as Nigeria’s leading independent energy company. As well, I extend a heartfelt thanks to our Joint Venture partners, and the communities where we operate for supporting our success and look forward to continuing this transformational journey together.”
