London Stock Exchange’s and Evolution Securities’ Retail Bond Issuance Forum, “a new source of medium term debt capital for UK borrowers”
On Monday 14th November the London Stock Exchange and the retail bond team of Evolution Securities hosted a forum providing information on the UK Retail Bond Market, and its attractiveness to potential borrowers.
A retail targeted bond issue allows borrowers to access a new source of medium term funding, typically 5 to 10 years, without the amortisation and onerous covenants typically associated with bank facilities. It provides borrowers with the opportunity to raise debt from the bond market in modest amounts from £25m up to £250m, and can be both complimentary and an alternative to bank debt. The London Stock Exchange’s retail bond market, launched last year, provides corporate debt issuers with direct access to retail investors through a cost effective and transparent electronic market.
