FAQ
What is a Member Authorised Connection (MAC)?
MAC enables a non-member firm (MAC customer) to connect directly to the Exchange’s centrally cleared order driven markets under an authorising member firm’s trading codes.
What is the difference between MAC and Direct Market Access?
As the connection is direct between the MAC customer and the Exchange, orders submitted to the market do not pass through the usual Order Management System (OMS) of the authorising member firm as is standard for other forms of order routing such as Direct Market Access.
Who can become a MAC customer?
MAC is only available to firms that are not members of the London Stock Exchange. Firms should first explore the benefits of becoming a member firm before considering MAC.
What connectivity options are available for MAC customers?
MAC customers can get a direct technical connection to the Exchange with Exchange Hosting, an Extranex connection or via a Network Service Provider. You should discuss your connectivity options with your broker first.
