The UK retains position as key Western centre for Islamic finance

TheCityUK has published a report indicating that the UK remains the leading Western provider for Islamic finance ranked ninth globally.

Among its findings, the global Islamic finance market was up 10% in 2009 and it is estimated that 2010 has seen similar growth.

London Stock Exchange at IFN Issuers & Investors Europe Forum

The Issuers & Investors Europe Forum 2011 presented by Islamic Finance News will take place on 7-8 July 2011 at One Bishops Square, London. The first day of this inaugural event will include presentations and panel sessions specifically for issuers of Islamic financial products with the second day providing dedicated discussion topics for investors in Shariah-compliant products. The Forum will provide an opportunity to hear about the current issues and key developments in Islamic finance markets and to meet industry experts. The London Stock Exchange will participate in a panel session as part of this discussion.

London Stock Exchange at Sukuk Summit 2011

The fifth annual London Sukuk Summit will take place on the 8-9 of June 2011 at the JumeriahCarltonTower, Knightsbridge. The theme for this year’s Summit is 'The Resurgence of Global Sukuk Markets'. The London Sukuk Summit provides a platform for dialogue with key sukuk market participants, financial regulators, industry experts and academics, and offers insights into the future direction of the Islamic capital markets. As part of this event, the London Stock Exchange will participate in a panel session discussion on sukuk market developments.
