11/07/2011- New ETCs from db-X ETC

db ETC has launched 3 new physical ETCs on London Stock Exchange, providing exposure to industrial metals such as Tin, Copper and Nickel. db X has listed 9 ETCs so far this year and has got total of 25 ETCs on LSE.

21/06/2011- New ETC from db-X ETC

db ETC has launched Physical Gold SGD hedged ETC on London Stock Exchange. This ETC is backed by a direct investment in the underlying physical gold and minimises the impact of the SGD/USD exchange rate risk.

24/05/2011- New product from db -XETC

db ETC has listed a Physical Rhodium ETC on the London Stock Exchange.

03/05/2011 – New physically back ETC from ETF Securities

ETF Securities has listed three physically-backed ETCs on the London Stock Exchange providing access to aluminum, lead and zinc. The launch expands their physical metal ETCs (copper, nickel and tin) which were announced December last year.

18/04/2011 – Source launch new physical precious metal ETCs

Source has launched three physical precious metal ETCs on the London Stock Exchange. The three products provide exposure to the price of silver, platinum and palladium, joining the issuer's existing gold ETC in its precious metals.

11/04/2011 – New ETCs from iShares

iShares has launched and listed its first  physically backed ETCs on the London Stock Exchange.  These ETCs are aimed to track the daily price and performance of underlying metals: Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium.

05/04/2011 – Exchange Traded Products Event

The London Stock Exchange will be hosting an event during the morning of 5 April 2011 to review the growing market for Exchange Traded Products and would like to invite you to join us.  A group of industry experts will gather to look at developments in the ETP market and to discuss its future progression and expansion.

17/02/2011 – Private Investor Roadshow

The London Stock Exchange is running a series of free educational events for private investors from 2 March to 15 March 2011.  This roadshow will take place in the following UK cities:

2 March          Edinburgh
8 March          Leeds
9 March          Manchester
10 March        Birmingham
15 March        Bristol

Each session will include an overview on recent market trends from Russ Mould, Editor of Shares magazine in addition to a series of briefings to give private investors the tools they need to diversify their portfolios.  Each event will cover a broad range of products including:

Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs) and Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs)

10/12/2010 – ETF Securities launch new ETCs

ETF Securities has today launched three new physically back industrial metal ETCs on Copper, Nickel and Tin tradable in the US Dollar.

15/11/2010 – New ETC from Deutsche Bank

db ETC has today launched its Mean Reversion ETC tradable in the US Dollar.

02/11/2010 – New ETN from iPath

iPath has introduced a new volatility ETN tradable in Sterling and the Euro tracking the Euro STOXX 50 Volatility Mid-Term

01/10/2010 – Promotion on Admission Fees

 

The London Stock Exchange Group is pleased to announce a new initiative to promote the admission to ETFs, ETCs and ETNs on the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market and ETFplus on Borsa Italiana which will be available to new and existing issuers until 31 March 2012. 22/07/10 – Deutsche Bank list two new ETCs

Deutsche Bank list two further ETCs; db Physical Platinum and db Physical Palladium.

12/07/10 – Deutsche Bank announce new listing

Deutsche Bank ETCs announce the listing of 10 new ETCs based on non-precious metals, backed by physical gold. The products include the db S&P GSCI, Commodity Booster, S&P GSCI Agriculture, the Agriculture Booster, S&P GSCI Energy, the Energy Booster, the Natural Gas Booster, the Industrial Metals and Industrial Metals Booster, and the WTI Crude Oil Booster.

22/06/10 – Deutsche Bank launch new ETCs

Deutsche Bank ETCs launch the db Physical Gold and db Physical Silver ETCs.

21/06/10 - ETF Securities admit 22 new currency ETCs

The launch includes 4 with long or short exposure to the Chinese Renminbi and Indian Rupee and 18 new GBP-based products with long or short exposure to G10 currencies.

27/4/10 – Launch of 28 ETNs

The London Stock Exchange welcomes 28 new Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs) to its markets. Société Générale has admitted 16 ETNs to trading while Barclays iPath has admitted 12. The products offer simple, real-time exposure to commodities and futures indices.

10/03/10 - UBS admit 69 ETCs on to the London Stock Exchange

The London Stock Exchange announces that UBS has become a new issuer of Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs) on its markets. The bank has admitted 69 products in its first major issuance of ETCs in Europe outside Switzerland. For more information please click here.

16/12/09 - ETF Securities List Physical Swiss Gold ETC.

The Physical Swiss Gold ETC has been constructed by ETF Securities to reflect the performance of the price of gold bullion. The ETC is open ended and is designed for investors to gain exposure into physical gold in a cost-effective and convenient way. 27/11/09 - ETF Securities and Morgan Stanley Conference: How to use FX ETCs.

On the 8th of December ETF Securities and Morgan Stanley will be giving a presentation on FX as an asset class and investment strategies using FX ETCs at the London Stock Exchange. The topics covered will include: an introduction to ETFS' Currency ETC Platform, how currency ETCs work, investment strategies and ideas, thematic and tactical strategies, strategic exposures and a Q&A session at the end. 12/11/09 - The London Stock Exchange welcomes the listing of 18 currency ETCs issued by ETF Securities.

The ETCs have been manufactured as fully collateralised investment vehicles aimed at giving individuals and institutions exposure in one of the major G10 countries against the US dollar. The London Stock Exchange is delighted to see these Exchange Traded Products expand into new asset classes and will continue to support issuers who bring these innovative ideas to the market.

30/06/09 - London Stock Exchange welcomes Source as a new issuer of Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs) onto its markets.

Source has listed its Physical Gold ETC (Gold P-ETC) which tracks the performance of gold by investing directly in gold bullion and has chosen London Stock Exchange in order to make its product available for trading in US dollars.

5/06/09 - London Stock Exchange press release

May was a very strong month for ETF and ETC trading across the Group’s order books, reaching a new record total of 269,197 trades. The average daily number of trades more than doubled, up 115 per cent year on year to 13,607, and the average daily value traded increased by 71 per cent year on year to £371.3 million (€419.8 million). The total value traded during the month was £7.3 billion (€8.2 billion).

The London Stock Exchange Group exhibited at the EDHEC Institutional Days conference in Paris.

07/05/09 - London Stock Exchange press release

Growth in ETF and ETC trading across the two exchanges’ order books continued to be very strong, with the average daily number of trades up 117 per cent year on year to 12,464, and the average daily value traded up 68 per cent to £343.3 million (€384.3 million). This strong growth was supported by a record number of trades on ETF Plus, the Italian ETF market, which saw an average 9,618 trades daily in ETFs and ETCs during the month.

23/03/09 – Lyxor’s first ETN in the UK launched on the London Stock Exchange

Lyxor has launched the UK's first ETN (Exchange Traded Note).  The LYXOR ETN Long Gold has been admitted to trading on the Exchange's Main Market.  ETNs are secured notes designed to track the performance of a particular underlying asset.  They are tradable in real-time during market hours allowing investors to access the market as they would shares, ETFs or ETCs.

15/12/08 - ETF Securities issues commodities review 2008 report

Commodities substantially outperformed equities over 2008 as equity markets fell precipitously in the wake of the credit crisis. Although down, commodities have generally weathered the financial storm better than their equity counterparts. The DJ All commodities Index remains up 14% and 107% over 5 and 10 year horizons. The S&P 500 is down 7% and 11% over the last 5 and 10 years respectively.
