Project Overview

The future launch of the London Stock Exchange Group Ticker Plant is an exciting prospect for the Group and our customers alike. Developed by MillenniumIT, the Group’s technology business, the new Ticker Plant will deliver exceptional levels of performance, scalability, product resiliency and a rich suite of real time market data services. Demonstrating our commitment to provisioning market leading products for our customers, irrespective of their size or geographical location, the Ticker Plant is a significant technology investment for the Group.

We have worked closely with our customers to develop a set of traditional and innovative real time services which we believe will deliver now and as our industry continues to evolve. Through a phased introduction of services, the Group will ultimately supersede all of the existing real time data products, collapsing these legacy services into a new bespoke, multi-asset, binary protocol, delivered over cutting edge technologies. Legacy market data protocols and platforms will be decommissioned when it is appropriate to do so.

Phase 1 saw the Group introduce the following service lines:

• An order book snapshot service for London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana (MTA, MOT, ETF Plus, SeDex, TAH and  IDEM) markets;
• A real-time incremental Level 1 service for London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana (MTA, MOT and  IDEM) markets.

Between Phase 1 and Phase 2 the Group will introduce FTSE Low Latency and the real-time Customer Dashboard.

Phase 2 will see the Group introduce the following service lines:

• A full depth real-time incremental Level 2 service for London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana (MTA, MOT and  IDEM) markets;
• Inclusion of Turquoise Cash, Turquoise Derivatives and MTS markets.
