Millennium Exchange is the London Stock Exchange's new trading and information platform, which builds on the expertise brought into the group by the acquisition of Millennium IT in October 2009. It demonstrates our continued commitment to strive for performance enhancements and efficiency in the markets we operate, ultimately delivering value to our clients.

MillenniumIT was founded in 1996, with corporate headquarters and software development located in Colombo, Sri Lanka.  It employs over 450 people, in two divisions – Proprietary Software Products and Enterprise Service Provider and is a technology solutions provider serving the global capital markets industry. Their suite of capital market products include trading platforms, Smart Order Routers (SOR), surveillance, clearing and CSD products. They currently power exchanges, depositories, brokerages and regulatory bodies in the United States, Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region and cater to trading multiple asset classes spanning equities, derivatives, debt, commodities, forex, structured products and exchange-traded funds.

The transaction to purchase MillenniumIT transforms the London Stock Exchange Group's (LSEG) in-house IT capabilities, delivering a step change in our development, whilst strengthening delivery and speed to market in the fast-moving trading environment.

The Millennium Exchange trading architecture delivers a highly scalable, agile, sub millisecond trading platform with multi-asset class functionality. It allows our customers to trade on one of the fastest, most reliable and technologically advanced markets in the world.
