UnaVista Data Solutions

Data Solutions

Reference data makes up 40% of all financial information, so it’s essential that you have a reliable source for it. UnaVista can consolidate all your sources of reference data and create golden copies of reference data – increasing your STP rates and reducing risk. And because the London Stock Exchange’s SEDOL Masterfile is part of UnaVista, you’ll be matching your reference data directly with the source. You also won’t have to update the information yourself – UnaVista does it for you.

Below are the reference data solutions available on UnaVista:

FundsData
UnaVista FundsData acts as a central information hub for all UK fund corporate action and standing data, as well as offering access to data on a number of European and off-shore funds.  The service acts as a distribution channel for fund reference data, addressing the fragmented and inefficient workflow processes currently associated with disseminating this information by providing a cost efficient, lower risk communication channel.

Entity Relationship Data
Companies can receive FactSet’s issue-to-issuer linkage data and parent-subsidiary relationship data via the UnaVista platform. UnaVista will reconcile the data against the Exchange’s SEDOL Masterfile and the firm’s own systems. Reduce your firm’s risk exposure without the need for manual checks. As UnaVista is a web-hosted system, firms don’t have to invest in expensive new hardware to run it, they also benefit from the reassurance of knowing that their data is safe, because it is securely hosted at the Exchange.

Trading Data
Being at the heart of the financial markets, the London Stock Exchange captures indispensable trade data and tailors it for professionals in financial services and corporate markets. Our information is relied upon for its robustness and accuracy, and often used as the benchmark to drive decisions. We have developed a range of products to help meet your differing information and analytical needs

SEDOL Masterfile
SEDOL Masterfile (SMF) is the Exchange’s official code to identify global securities. It provides reference data on millions of global multi-asset securities, each uniquely identified at the market level by our universal SEDOL code. By collecting global reference data directly from source, SMF is designed to lower costs, streamline post-trade processing and settlement, and minimise the risk of cross-border trade failures.

Corporate Actions
The London Stock Exchange is known as the premier source of high quality UK corporate action information. Through prompt notification of all corporate actions we enable you to keep your holdings up to date and meet clients’ ever-increasing demands for timely information. Providing detailed coverage of UK corporate actions, our products cover all London Stock Exchange instruments with over 50 corporate action types ranging from cash dividends to rights issues and complex company schemes.

DataSync
Datasync consists of a range of services designed to provide advance notification of changes to the Exchange’s trading system. This enables market participants to synchronise their trading database(s) before the market opens. By improving reference data quality and monitoring new IPOs, Datasync gives customers confidence in tracking new trading opportunities and minimises trade failure.
