Increased globalization and the rise of new trading venues and data sources has made trading more complex. The lack of a universal system of symbology for security identification has created problems in the transaction process from security identification to clearing and settlement. This panel will review the current discussions regarding creation of a common system of symbology with a close look at the benefits a single system would provide and the challenges faced in creating such a system.
