With effect from the start of business on Monday 8 November 2010, Scotiabank Europe PLC ("Scotiabank" or "the firm") will commence trading as a member firm of the London Stock Exchange.

The firm will act as a gilt-edged market maker ("GEMM") and index-linked gilt-edged market maker ("IL GEMM"). Scotiabank will be a member firm in respect of its GEMM and IL GEMM business only.

Member firms should note that any non GEMM or IL GEMM business conducted with the firm should be treated as having been dealt with a non-member.

Scotiabank will settle its business through a settlement agreement with BNP Paribas Securities Services SA.
