Notification of Transactions of Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility pursuant to DTR 3.1.4R

Lonmin Plc (the "Company") announces that it has today been notified of dealings by the Chief Executive Officer, Ian Farmer, and the PDMRs listed below.   The New Shares (nil paid) result from Bonus Invested Shares held by Mr Farmer and the PDMRs in the Company's employee benefit trust by virtue of the Deferred Annual Bonus Plan.

As previously announced, Mr Farmer did not provide an irrevocable undertaking to follow his rights in full in light of the course of medical treatment he is receiving.  Instead, he elected to sell a sufficient number of his New Shares (nil paid) to enable him to use the cash proceeds of this transaction, after the deduction of dealing costs, to take up the remaining New Shares at 140p each.

Mr Jamieson and Mr Munroe made similar elections, as detailed below, to take up New Shares at R19.4872.

Notes to editors

Lonmin, which is listed on both the London Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, is one of the world's largest primary producers of PGMs. These metals are essential for many industrial applications, especially catalytic converters for internal combustion engine emissions, as well as their widespread use in jewellery.

Lonmin's operations are situated in the Bushveld Complex in South Africa, where nearly 80% of known global PGM resources are found.

The Company creates value for shareholders through mining, refining and marketing PGMs and has a vertically integrated operational structure - from mine to market. Lonmin's mining operations extract ore from which the Process Division produces refined PGMs for delivery to customers. Underpinning the operations is the Shared Services function which provides high quality levels of support and infrastructure across the operations.
