ROLLS-ROYCE WINS $200M ORDER FROM OMAN AIR

Rolls-Royce has won an order from Oman Air, worth $200m at list prices, to deliver Trent 700 engines to power three Airbus A330 aircraft. The order also includes long-term TotalCare® service support.

The Trent 700 is the market leading engine for the Airbus A330, and has won 70 per cent of new orders over the last four years.

Salim Al Kindy, Chief Technical Officer, Oman Air, said: "Our evaluations found the Trent 700 to be the best solution for our fleet expansion. The engine will provide market-leading environmental performance, with low emissions, noise and fuel burn. Rolls-Royce TotalCare provides us with the ability to maximise aircraft availability and manage servicing cost."

Andrew Harper, Rolls-Royce, Vice President Customers - Civil Large Engines, said: "Oman Air is an important Middle East customer and we are delighted it has once again shown its commitment to our products and services."

The Trent 700 is the only engine specifically designed for the Airbus A330. Rolls-Royce has  more than 1,400 Trent 700 engines either in service or on order.

Oman Air currently operates seven Airbus A330 aircraft, all powered by Trent 700s.
