Bumi plc strengthens operational management

The Board of Bumi plc (the "Company") today announces that Eko Budianto will replace Rosan Roeslani as President Director of PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk and its operating company PT Berau Coal.

Mr Budianto was previously the Director of Operations responsible for PT Berau Coal 's mining operations.. He was appointed as Director of Operations of PT. Berau Coal in June 2010, having joined the company in March of that year.

In addition, Tony Redman, former Technical Director at Anglo American plc and head of Anglo Coal, has been appointed as consultant technical adviser to Bumi plc.

Nick von Schirnding, Chief Executive Officer of Bumi plc, commented: "Our near term strategy is very clear: to effect a separation from Bumi Resources and to maximise value in our 85 per cent owned operating subsidiary, Berau. We continue to make excellent progress in strengthening our operating management at Berau. I welcome the appointment of both Eko and Tony.Their combined operational experience will be a major asset to the Company and Berau. Their expertise will assist delivery of  further initiatives to cut our cost base and drive profitable growth across our business."
