Law Society CPD
The Law Society is the regulatory and representative body for 116,000 solicitors in England and Wales.
All solicitors and registered European lawyers (RELs) who are in legal practice or employment in England and Wales and work 32 hours or more per week, are required by the Law Society Training Regulations 1990 to undertake continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
At least 25 per cent of the CPD requirement must be met by participation in accredited courses. Up to 100% of the requirement may be satisfied in this way.

Bar Council CPD hours
The Bar Council was founded in 1894 to represent the interests of barristers. Its role is to promote and improve the services and functions of the Bar and to represent the Interests of the Bar on all matters relating to the profession.
In order to maintain and enhance the quality of legal services that they offer, barristers need to update and develop specialist areas of knowledge and ensure that their skills are regularly refreshed. To support this, the Bar Council have a continuing professional development scheme for established practitioners.
