Water and waste - 30 March 2006

A unique event showcasing issuers in the water and waste sectors to a select audience of UK and European institutional investors, facilitating dialogue and understanding of the issuers’ investment stories.

Following the success of the Renewable Energy Capital Markets Day held in October 2005, the London Stock Exchange and Carbon International are preparing for the rapidly approaching Water and Waste Capital Markets Day to be held on Thursday, 30th March 2006.

The Exchange’s Capital Market Days facilitates face-to-face, scheduled dialogue between companies and institutional investors

Improved understanding = effective investment

Investing in liquid markets, securing value from waste
“Water and waste markets are growing at double digit rates annually. The most essential commodity on the planet – water - is in short supply, threatened by pollution and transported by inadequate infrastructure. High commodity prices and a tightening ratchet of environmental policy are spurring continued innovation in waste management and recycling. Governments are setting tough performance targets and are inviting the private sector to commit a large amount of capital. As a result, water and waste markets are growing rapidly, and there's scope for some very attractive investment returns.” Ian Simm, CEO of Impax Group

Open and private dialogue

Each company has the opportunity to present its investment story to an institutional audience and meet individual investors on a one-to-one basis in private rooms.

The London Stock Exchange, working with Carbon International, a specialist clean technology IR and PR Company, identifies, pre-qualifies and invites appropriate institutional investors to ensure their relevance and interest. We also manage the scheduling, logistics, marketing and administration on the day.

An Invaluable opportunity

Viewing the maximum number of investment propositions in a minimal amount of time in a single location makes a Capital Markets Day an invaluable event to attend. There are no lengthy speeches, but brief financial presentations and the opportunity to have private one to one meetings with as many of the companies as you wish.

Spaces to attend as an investor or as a presenting company are limited.

Building on the success of the Renewable Energy Capital Markets Day 2005

On 13th October 2005, seventy investors from sixty different investment houses spent the day at the London Stock Exchange.

Large cap and small cap fund managers, equity analysts, heads of research and managing directors from organisations including Goldman Sachs, UBS, Hendersons, Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Schroders and Morgan Stanley came to learn about the investment opportunities offered by 9 exciting Renewable

Energy Companies.

The companies, Voller Energy, Acta, Tersus Energy, Novera, Theolia, Oxonica, D1 Oils, Clean Diesel Technologies and Enova, presented to a packed investor audience and subsequently each enjoyed as many as six private meetings with investors on the day.

The companies found this time and cost effective way of generating investment interest to be a huge success. All attending investors commented that they found the event helpful to their investment decisions and the quality of the presenting companies to be ‘excellent’ or ‘good’.
