Impax Group plc ("Impax") is a financial advisory and asset management Company quoted on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange. The Group provides financial services within the environmental markets sector, focusing on alternative energy, waste management and water treatment.
Impax has two subsidiaries: asset management and corporate finance advisory.
Impax Asset Management Limited
Impax Asset Management Limited ("IAM") is a specialist fund management and advisory service within the environmental markets sector and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
IAM is the manager of Impax Environmental Markets plc ("IEM"), an investment trust that invests in companies that are commercialising or using environmental technology. Over the past 3 years Impax Environmental Markets plc has consistently outperformed leading stock market indices such as the MSCI World Index. It is the only pure play environmental investment vehicle in the FTSE All Share index.
IAN also manages Impax New Energy Investors LP (the "New Energy Fund"), Impax New Energy Investors (the "New Energy Fund"), a fund sponsored by Dexia Crédit Local, that invests in renewable energy projects and associated infrastructure, predominantly in Western Europe.
In August 2006 Impax announced that total funds under management had risen to over £400mn, from less than £100mn a year earlier. The aggregate net assets of IEM now stand at over £190mn, reinforcing the trust's position as the leading closed end fund investing in the high growth environmental sector. Additionally, the New Energy Fund reached its target size of 125mn Euros before the Fund's first anniversary.
IAM also manages Impax Environmental Markets (Ireland) Fund, an open-ended version of IEM. Furthermore, IAM is advisor to three funds with over £45 million invested in the environmental markets sector; including the US$25 million PVMTI fund, a private equity facility funded by the International Finance Corporation targeting the solar energy industry.
Impax Capital Limited
Established in 1994, Impax Capital Limited ("Impax Capital") is a corporate finance advisory house providing M&A, valuation and project finance advisory services to small, medium and large sized companies across the environmental markets sector. Impax Capital has a proven track record of deal closures and significant experience both in valuing companies in the environmental markets sector and in assisting larger corporate to enter the sector. The Company is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority as a corporate finance adviser.
