Following the reclassification of the term OPOL, SEDOL codes are allocated to securities for place of trading in the absence of listing, still one per country.
In February 2006, we began allocating separate SEDOL codes for securities that previously used the SEDOL of the primary listing. This was done for IRS securities only, and there were approximately 300 new SEDOL codes allocated. A spreadsheet containing a list of the SEDOLs affected is available to download (this spreadsheet may be subject to change).
From 22nd May 2006, we will begin issuing new SEDOL codes for IOB and ITBB securities, allocating 10 SEDOL codes per day. New codes will be allocated in alphabetical order, with IOB securities being completed first. A spreadsheet containing a list of the SEDOLs that will be affected is available to download (this spreadsheet may be subject to change).
OPOL = Official Place of Listing or, in the absence of listing, place of trading (One per country).
