Who are the members of the AIM community?
AIM's success as the leading global growth market is reflected in the calibre of its companies, advisers and investors.
Companies
AIM is suitable for smaller companies from any sector and from any country. But what all the companies joining AIM have in common is a dynamic outlook and a strong ambition to expand their business. There are many companies like this across the world − reflected by the fact that we have more than 1600 companies quoted on AIM from over 30 countries.
Nominated Advisers
Every company joining AIM must appoint a Nominated Adviser (known as a Nomad). The Nomad plays a crucial role in the admission process, carrying out pre-vetting to assess the company's suitability to join AIM, assisting it through flotation, and then being on hand once the company is on AIM to help it meet its ongoing obligations, capitalise on its AIM quotation and deal with any market issues that may arise.

AIM Brokers
AIM brokers are a further integral part of the market. A broker is a securities house which is a member of the London Stock Exchange, and which is responsible for facilitating and promoting trading in the company's shares on the market. In many cases, an AIM company’s broker is the same firm as its Nominated Adviser.

Market Specialists
Companies on AIM are supported and advised by an extensive network of market specialists, who contribute significantly to the high profile and ongoing success of the outstanding businesses quoted on the market. These specialists include lawyers, accountants, public relations (PR) and investor relations (IR) professionals − all of whom play a vital role for companies both during their preparations to come to AIM and once they are admitted.
Investors
AIM has a diverse and committed base of investors, ranging from large institutions holding billions of pounds of AIM shares, to private investors with relatively small investment portfolios. AIM investors are usually looking for companies with growth stories − precisely the type of business that AIM has been designed to attract and support.
